DAIKIN’s latest commercial building air conditioning solution series, VRV 6X and VRV 6A, have officially received the Green Label Indonesia certification. Issued by the Green Product Council Indonesia (GPCI), a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental industry standardization, both DAIKIN VRV models have earned the highest possible rating: PLATINUM.
“This top-tier green certificate represents DAIKIN’s commitment to reducing carbon footprints in Indonesia through innovations in energy-efficient and environmentally friendly HVAC systems that support the growth of green buildings,” stated Budi Mulia, Deputy President Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia.
Administered by GPCI, Green Label Indonesia is a green certification for building materials, interiors, building fixtures, and related supporting products. The high level of trust in this label stems from evaluation standards developed by professional experts and the involvement of independent auditing bodies. This rigorous framework has established the certification as a widely recognized benchmark for consumers selecting eco-friendly products.
The certification assessment covers material composition, product quality, manufacturing processes, environmental management, and waste handling. Additionally, the verification process incorporates Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principles, an environmental policy requiring manufacturers to take accountability for the entire lifecycle of their products.
Following GPCI’s comprehensive verification across all these aspects, DAIKIN VRV 6X and VRV 6A achieved a perfect score of 100%, qualifying them for the PLATINUM rating—the highest tier of the Green Label Indonesia certification. Notably, this marks the very first Green Label Indonesia certificate issued by GPCI specifically for the VRV AC category.
The introduction of this certification for the category would not have been possible without DAIKIN’s initiative. Acting as a pioneer, DAIKIN collaborated with GPCI to develop specialized evaluation criteria tailored specifically for VRV AC units. “The push for an independent, trusted green certification for commercial ACs is crucial to providing ease and certainty for all industry stakeholders in sourcing eco-friendly products,” added Budi Mulia.
Highlighting DAIKIN’s success in securing the Platinum-level Green Label Indonesia certification, Budi Mulia reaffirmed the company’s dedication to continuously inspiring the manufacturing sector and working in tandem with the Indonesian government toward net zero emissions. DAIKIN has firmly set its corporate target to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
