Continuing its tradition as one of the company’s flagship annual initiatives, Daikin distributed 1,000 essential food packages (comprising nine staple items) to those in need. Targeting underserved communities, this year’s Roda-Roda Ramadan was executed as a joint effort between Daikin’s two Indonesian entities: PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia and PT Daikin Industries Indonesia. In addition to residents of Pasirranji village in Cikarang, the food packages were also delivered to inhabitants of three elderly care facilities across Jakarta.

“Through the implementation of Roda-Roda Ramadan, we hope to share joy and tangible benefits with the recipient communities,” stated Budi Mulia, Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia and PT Daikin Industries Indonesia. He further emphasized that this initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to maintaining a continuous, positive presence and making a sustainable impact on both the environment and surrounding communities.

As an ongoing corporate social responsibility initiative, Roda-Roda Ramadan has now entered its sixth year since its inception. Throughout its execution, various donations have been strategically distributed across multiple regions to reach and support vulnerable communities.

This year’s distribution in Pasirranji village, Central Cikarang, was strategically chosen due to its proximity to Daikin’s residential air conditioning manufacturing plant in Indonesia. Located within the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) Deltamas industrial estate in Cikarang, this facility holds the distinction of being Indonesia’s first fully operational residential AC manufacturing plant, operating under strict Japanese supervision and quality standards.

“By distributing essential goods in Pasirranji village, we aim to expand the tangible impact of our factory’s presence on the local community. Beyond providing high-quality products and employment opportunities, we also want to extend our support to those in need during the holy month of Ramadan,” added Budi Mulia.

Also part of this year’s Roda-Roda Ramadan campaign, Daikin distributed food packages to three elderly care homes in the Jakarta area. These facilities include Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia, PSBI Bangun Daya 2, and PSBK Harapan Jaya.

During the event, in addition to distributing food packages, Daikin encouraged the elderly residents to engage in interactive group exercises. This combination of physical activity and social interaction was carefully designed to show care and boost morale among the nursing home residents.

To further streamline this year’s Roda-Roda Ramadan efforts, Daikin partnered with Benihbaik.com. Renowned as a crowdfunding and CSR platform, Benihbaik.com facilitates donations for humanitarian, health, education, environmental, and community empowerment causes. This collaboration ensures that aid distribution runs smoothly and reaches the intended beneficiaries accurately.

Looking ahead to the future of the Roda-Roda Ramadan program, Budi Mulia noted that the company will continue to advance and expand its social initiatives for the Indonesian public. He explained that this is driven by Daikin’s awareness of its role as an integral part of the broader Indonesian community, especially given its more than 50-year presence in the country.

“Growing alongside the development of Indonesian society is core to the Daikin spirit. We look forward to collaborating with even more partners to drive larger-scale movements for Indonesia’s progress,” concluded Budi Mulia.
