PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) recently hosted its national-level competition for HVAC technicians at the DAIKIN National Training Center in Jakarta on August 23. Titled 5th National Service Skill Competition, this annual flagship event for DAIKIN’s internal technicians and authorized service partners attracted 40 pre-selected participants who advanced through multiple preliminary rounds.

As the highest-tier technician competition in Indonesia, the event was designed with two primary objectives. First, it serves as a continuous evaluation platform by DAIKIN to assess technician proficiency. Second, it fosters a competitive environment that encourages technicians to continuously refine their skills, aligning with DAIKIN’s commitment to delivering the highest service standards.

“More than just a skills showcase, this competition symbolizes DAIKIN’s commitment to cultivating a generation of technicians ready to compete on a global scale,” stated Shinji Miyata, President Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia. This initiative also serves as a selection process to identify technicians who will represent Indonesia at the corresponding ASEAN and Oceania competition in Thailand.

The competition follows a rigorous format comprising four core modules: paper test, troubleshooting, brazing, and customer service. Each category is specifically designed to assess both technical expertise and communication skills, which are essential for delivering premium service.

To recognize the dedication and expertise of the participants, DAIKIN presents four award categories, each highlighting excellence in a specific competition domain. The accolades include The Best Customer Service, The Best Brazing, The Best Troubleshooting, and The Best Overall Competition.
