PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (Daikin) held the Daikin Goes To Campus event at Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta today (November 16). More than just a campus visit, the program featured speakers from Daikin’s Yogyakarta branch who delved into the intricacies of air conditioning solutions and discussed strategies for enhancing indoor air quality.
"This activity is part of Daikin’s effort to bridge the gap between students and the industry. Through this initiative, we hope that students, as future professionals, will gain a deeper understanding of how the industry operates," stated Stevanus Kevin Irwan, Head of Daikin’s Yogyakarta Branch. By providing students with the opportunity to explore the industry firsthand, Stevanus added, the goal is to inspire them regarding their own future career growth.
Held at the Drost Room on the 4th floor of Campus III at Sanata Dharma University, the program attracted over 200 student participants. All attendees were from the Faculty of Science and Technology, majoring in mechanical engineering, informatics, electrical engineering, and mechatronics.
Daikin Goes To Campus is an annual agenda organized by PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia, targeting university students from various study programs as potential future employees. Conducted simultaneously across multiple higher education institutions throughout Indonesia, the program serves as Daikin’s initiative to introduce the air conditioning solutions industry and related fields within the country. "As the market leader in air conditioning solutions in Indonesia, it is our responsibility to contribute more to human resource development," Stevanus reiterated.
Throughout the program, speakers from Daikin’s Yogyakarta branch covered two main topics. Participants were introduced to the fundamental principles of air conditioning (AC) units, alongside in-depth discussions on improving indoor air quality. The sessions were highly interactive, allowing students to engage through questions, feedback, and sharing their perspectives.
Furthermore, Stevanus noted that Daikin’s Yogyakarta branch will continue to develop various initiatives to reach and nurture students, particularly in the Yogyakarta region and its surroundings. In addition to scheduling visits at other universities, the company is also preparing upcoming visits and training sessions tailored for vocational high school students.
