JAKARTA (Daikin) - Japanese air conditioning manufacturer Daikin Indonesia hosted the Daikin Fun Ride cycling event alongside partners, staff, employees, and community members in the BSD area on Saturday (May 29).
Through this activity, Daikin aims to popularize healthy sports, particularly cycling, among Indonesians to help maintain body immunity during the current pandemic.
Held as part of Daikin Indonesia’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, the event was attended by approximately 100 cyclists for the 25 km Fun Ride, while the Fun Competition covered a 50 km distance.
"Through this event, we want our partners and employees to join us in celebrating Daikin's anniversary with a healthy activity during these pandemic times," said Wenky Handono, Assistant General Manager of Daikin Indonesia and Chairman of the Daikin Cycling Community, in a written statement on Tuesday (June 1).
The 50 km Fun Competition was won by Christopher (CV. ABC Technical Service) as first place, followed by William Jayadi Phan (Desco AC Solutions) and Vicky Vendi (PT Sinar Jaya Indonesia Electronic) as second and third place, respectively.
Strict health protocols were enforced for all Fun Ride and Fun Competition participants, as well as event organizers. Out-of-town attendees underwent rapid antigen tests, while Jakarta-based participants adhered to strict local guidelines. At the venue, organizers conducted temperature checks, required mask usage, and maintained social distancing throughout the event, which concluded at 11:00 AM. Additionally, dedicated safety teams, escort vehicles, evacuation crews, and community volunteers ensured the event ran smoothly and securely until completion.
