JAKARTA (Daikin) – Japanese air conditioning manufacturer Daikin Indonesia recently hosted the Daikin Fun Ride cycling event alongside partners, staff, employees, and community members in the BSD area on Saturday (May 29).
Through this initiative, Daikin aims to encourage healthy sports activities, particularly cycling, among Indonesians to help maintain body immunity during the ongoing pandemic.
Held as part of Daikin Indonesia’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, the event drew around 100 cyclists for the 25 km recreational route, while the competitive category covered a 50 km distance.
"Through this activity, we want our partners and employees to join us in celebrating Daikin’s birthday through healthy engagement during these challenging times," said Wenky Handono, Assistant General Manager of Daikin Indonesia and Chairman of the Daikin Bicycle Community, in a written statement on Tuesday (June 6).
Christopher from CV. ABC Technical Service claimed first place in the 50 km Fun Competition, followed by William Jayadi Phan from Desco AC Solutions and Vicky Vendi from PT Sinar Jaya Indonesia Electronic as second and third-place winners, respectively.
Prioritizing participant safety, Daikin strictly enforced health protocols for all attendees of both the Fun Ride and Fun Competition, as well as the organizing committee. Participants traveling from outside Jakarta were required to undergo rapid antigen testing, while those from Jakarta adhered to strict pre-event screening procedures. At the venue, the committee monitored body temperatures, ensured mask usage, and maintained social distancing throughout the event, which concluded at 11:00 AM WIB. Additionally, dedicated safety, escort, evacuation, and community support teams were on standby to guarantee a secure and smoothly run event from start to finish.
