Visiting three higher education institutions in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) had the opportunity to conduct special lecture sessions. Focusing primarily on the HVAC solutions industry, device innovations, and business developments both globally and domestically, this event formed part of the two-day DAIKIN Goes To Campus program held starting December 21.

"With the core activity being the sharing of insights regarding the HVAC industry, our field of specialization for nearly a century worldwide, this visit represents DAIKIN's effort to foster better interaction and collaboration between industry practitioners and academia," stated Iwan Daniel, Head of DAIKIN Samarinda Branch. The three universities visited were Universitas Mulawarman, Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Kalimantan Timur, and Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Samarinda. "In line with our commitment to further contribute to educational advancement, we remain highly open to conducting similar visits to other educational institutions across East Kalimantan in the near future," added Iwan Daniel.

This statement regarding commitment aligns directly with the DAIKIN Goes To Campus program itself. As one of DAIKIN's annual agendas, the program was originally designed to strengthen the company's contribution to the education sector.

Running parallel to other forms of support, DAIKIN Goes To Campus places greater emphasis on inspiring students regarding the industrial landscape. "Through this inspiration, we hope students will feel more confident when entering the workforce. Ultimately, this creates a symbiotic relationship where the industry grows through the expertise of its human resources, aligning perfectly with individual career development goals," Iwan explained.

During its execution at Universitas Mulawarman, which marked the kickoff of DAIKIN Goes To Campus in Samarinda, the special lecture session was held in the Building 2 Conference Room. DAIKIN assigned several of its subject matter experts as speakers. Covering fundamentals of the HVAC solutions industry—more commonly known as air conditioning (AC) equipment—the materials also unveiled innovations behind the latest AC products.

During the presentation, students were introduced to the application of Inverter technology in AC systems. Recognized as a technological innovation offering superior energy-efficient operation, this session also reflected DAIKIN's synergy with the Indonesian government's campaign to promote energy-saving awareness. "This collaboration with the government aligns with our corporate growth direction, which continuously strives for better technologies that support environmental sustainability, particularly by prioritizing energy savings in AC usage," Iwan noted.

The presentations were highly interactive, giving students the opportunity not only to ask questions but also to share their perspectives and opinions.

Another highlight of the DAIKIN-student engagement was a dedicated session outlining career pathways at DAIKIN, recognized as a market leader in the Indonesian AC industry. Rather than just a standard presentation, this segment was led by one of DAIKIN's own staff members who shared personal career journey experiences within the company. According to Iwan, beyond facilitating direct communication with the speakers, this session also highlighted various open positions, presenting tangible career opportunities for students at DAIKIN.

Elaborating further, Iwan expressed his hope that the DAIKIN Goes To Campus visits to these three Samarinda universities would genuinely benefit the participating students. "Given the rapid development that has already occurred and will continue here, students as future professionals need to equip themselves with broad knowledge to actively participate in this growth. This is precisely where we aim to contribute, including through initiatives like the DAIKIN Goes To Campus program," Iwan concluded.
