Deputy Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Immanuel Ebenezer, expressed his appreciation for Daikin’s mass recruitment efforts following the commissioning of its new residential AC manufacturing plant in Cikarang, West Java. Highlighted during a direct meeting with Daikin at his office on May 27, Mr. Ebenezer noted that Daikin’s initiative aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to reduce the national unemployment rate.
The meeting also served as a platform to explore strategic collaboration opportunities between Daikin and the Ministry of Manpower. Beyond job creation, the discussion focused on enhancing the competencies of prospective workers.
During the session, Daikin outlined various initiatives undertaken by the company to improve workforce readiness. In addition to providing certified training programs through the Daikin Training Center, these competency-building efforts are further supported by the establishment of the Daikin Center of Excellence.
Targeting Vocational High Schools (SMK) and Workforce Training Centers (BLK), the physical manifestation of the Daikin Center of Excellence involves upgrading specialized facilities dedicated to classroom instruction and hands-on practice for students. Its presence complements Daikin’s existing collaborations with relevant institutions, which include guest instructors, comprehensive training modules, curriculum enrichment, and industry competency assessments.
“We hope Daikin’s initiative will inspire other companies to join forces in creating a stronger and more sustainable industry,” stated Mr. Ebenezer during the meeting.
