Strengthening government synergy to enhance vocational education competency, PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education on August 13. “This reinforces DAIKIN’s commitment to developing the quality of vocational education institutions. It is not implemented sporadically, but rather runs in synergy with the government,” stated Budi Mulia, Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia.
Implemented through the Directorate General of Vocational Education, Special Education and Special Services Education, this MoU encompasses eight key areas. These include curriculum alignment, competency enhancement for students and instructors, provision of facilities and infrastructure, implementation of industry certifications, facilitation of practical work and internships, up to job placement for graduating students.
DAIKIN’s dedication to advancing vocational education competency is nothing new. To date, the company has collaborated with 38 Vocational High Schools (SMK) and two universities, specifically in the fields of refrigeration and air conditioning. Through these collaborations with various vocational institutions, DAIKIN has established the DAIKIN Center of Excellence.
The DAIKIN Center of Excellence serves as a dedicated space for teaching related to HVAC and air conditioning systems. Equipped with various installed DAIKIN AC units, the facility is designed to support hands-on practice and year-round training programs. “With this MoU, the number of DAIKIN Centers of Excellence will continue to grow, expanding to reach more vocational education institutions across various regions in Indonesia,” concluded Budi Mulia.
