PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) has once again organized the DAIKIN Goes To Campus event. As an annual corporate program designed to introduce the air conditioning solutions industry and its career opportunities to the academic sector, the University of Riau was selected as the inaugural venue for this year's edition.
“We hope this event will inspire and provide valuable references for students as they prepare to enter the workforce,” said Triyantomi, Branch Manager for DAIKIN in Pekanbaru and surrounding areas, during the event (May 10). Held at the Rectorate Building Auditorium of the University of Riau, the program attracted over one hundred participants, predominantly from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering.
DAIKIN Goes To Campus is one of DAIKIN’s flagship annual initiatives, specifically designed to strengthen ties between the industry and academia. By bridging the gap between the professional world and educational institutions, the company aims to equip students with relevant insights and knowledge aligned with industry standards.
Running concurrently throughout the year, this initiative targets multiple universities across various regions in Indonesia. Leveraging nearly a century of global expertise in the air conditioning solutions industry, the company also highlights diverse career pathways within DAIKIN.
The curriculum covered the latest advancements in cooling technologies for residential and commercial buildings, ranging from fundamental air conditioning solution systems to DAIKIN’s innovative products utilizing Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) technology. Interactive Q&A sessions were also integrated, allowing students to ask questions, share feedback, and discuss the presented topics.
In addition to DAIKIN’s technical experts, the event featured guest speakers who are DAIKIN employees and University of Riau alumni. “By sharing firsthand experiences from our alumni, we hope participants can gain a clearer perspective on building a career in the air conditioning solutions industry,” added Triyantomi.
He further noted that alongside DAIKIN Goes To Campus, the company will continue to expand social initiatives focused on educational development in Pekanbaru and its surrounding regions. These efforts extend beyond higher education, including specialized training programs for vocational high school students in the area.
