The continuous competency development program for DAIKIN Indonesia technicians has yielded proud results. This was demonstrated when two technicians representing Indonesia secured championship titles at The 5th ASE-Oce Service Skill Competition 2025, held on October 16–17 in Bangkok, Thailand.
In a highly competitive field, both technicians earned top honors in the overall combined score category, which evaluates brazing, troubleshooting, and written test performance. Ahmad Setiawan, a DAIKIN technician from Indonesia, claimed first place in this premier category. His fellow competitor, Yongki Lukmana, delivered an equally impressive performance. In addition to securing third place in the main category, he also earned second place specifically in the troubleshooting skill segment.
The remarkable achievements of these two DAIKIN technicians are closely tied to the prestige of The 5th ASE-Oce Service Skill Competition 2025. As an annual event primarily aimed at maintaining and elevating technician capabilities to meet DAIKIN's global standards, the competition's high caliber is reflected in its participants, who bring together the top-selected technicians from 11 DAIKIN affiliates across the Asia and Oceania regions.
With a total of 19 participants, each showcased their expertise through various technical challenges related to air conditioning, divided into three core areas. All exercises were carefully designed to mirror real-world field service conditions.
The first area is the written examination, covering topics such as AC fundamentals, residential AC basics, service updates, troubleshooting, controls, and operational data. The second is brazing, which focuses heavily on welding proficiency for AC components. The third is troubleshooting, which emphasizes simulating real-life scenarios involving the replacement and repair of residential AC components.
Each of these domains served as a distinct competition category. Meanwhile, the participant with the highest combined score was crowned the overall champion and received a special award.
The selection of these two technicians to represent Indonesia at this Asia-Oceania level competition was the result of a rigorous multi-stage process. Prior to this, both representatives had already undergone extensive screening through the national-level Service Skill Competition.
Attracted hundreds of top-tier technicians, including both internal staff and external partners serving as official DAIKIN service centers across Indonesia, the event was strategically organized to monitor and elevate the competency levels of DAIKIN technicians nationwide.
This success adds to a growing list of proud international achievements for DAIKIN Indonesia. Previously, in 2023, Indonesia also made its mark by securing third place in the overall best category and third place in the brazing category. This consistency highlights how the company's continuous development initiatives successfully produce technicians whose skills continue to evolve year after year.
"This achievement is a tangible result of the dedication and hard work of our entire technical team, who remain committed to delivering the best possible service to our customers," stated Shinji Miyata, President Director of PT DAIKIN Airconditioning Indonesia. He further emphasized that DAIKIN Indonesia will continue to strengthen its technical human resource development programs through various training initiatives, including internationally certified courses.
Delivered through DAIKIN training centers and partnerships with various educational institutions, all these efforts form a crucial part of DAIKIN Indonesia's broader initiative to cultivate a new generation of professional, integrity-driven technicians equipped with globally recognized competencies.
