PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) continues to demonstrate its commitment to social welfare initiatives. Through this golf tournament, the Japanese air conditioning solutions specialist with nearly a century of global experience rallies support for government programs aimed at reducing the number of stunted children in Indonesia.

“Beyond serving as a networking platform for our partners, this tournament also aims to foster shared awareness regarding child stunting in Indonesia,” said Shinji Miyata, President Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia. In line with this initiative, the donations are not solely funded by the company. Instead, DAIKIN invites all participants to actively contribute directly to the cause.

“The funds collected from all participants and the company represent our efforts as the greater DAIKIN family in Indonesia to take a more active role and synergize with government development programs,” added Shinji Miyata. A total of IDR 131.6 million was successfully raised during the tournament held at Damai Indah Golf & Country Club in Tangerang on November 25.

The DAIKIN Charity Golf is one of DAIKIN’s annual flagship programs. As the name suggests, since its inception in 2020, this year’s edition featuring 144 participants has been designed around two core objectives. Beyond fostering synergy through recreational networking, the event carries a clear mission to contribute to the socio-economic development of Indonesian communities.

This synergy extends beyond attendees from DAIKIN’s business network, including contractors, building owners, architects, developers, and consultants across various specializations. Furthermore, it is reflected in the collaborative execution involving PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia, PT Daikin Applied Solution Indonesia, PT Daikin Manufacturing Indonesia, and PT Daikin Industry Indonesia.

The accumulated funds were symbolically received by Hermawan NG, an advisor at Yayasan Benih Baik Indonesia. Operating under benihbaik.com as its donation fundraising platform, the foundation co-founded by Andy Flores Noya serves as DAIKIN’s strategic partner in deploying these resources effectively.

Regarding donations, DAIKIN introduced an enhanced engagement approach this year compared to previous editions. All attending partners were invited to contribute financially by scanning provided QR codes or accessing direct links that redirect to the benihbaik.com website.

During the handover ceremony, it was announced that the aid will support the BenihBaik program aimed at preventing child stunting across Indonesia. Priority regions include South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which remain key focus areas for national stunting prevention efforts.

“We recognize that this contribution alone cannot serve as a complete solution to the stunting prevention program,” stated Shinji Miyata. He further added, “Regardless of the amount, we hope this initiative will inspire and motivate more stakeholders to join hands in future community development efforts across Indonesia.”
