Following the successful inaugural Daikin Designer Awards (DDA) in 2020, which coincided with Daikin Indonesia’s 50th anniversary, Daikin Proshop Indonesia is once again hosting the second edition of the DDA, running from May 14 to October 28, 2022.

Ching Khim Huat, President Director of PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia, and Selvi Ani Yongnata, Manager of Daikin Proshop Indonesia, explained that the initiative aims to provide the highest appreciation to architects and interior designers for their best works, while also raising awareness about the importance of indoor air management. Traditionally, the public has primarily viewed air conditioning as merely a cooling solution. However, modern air conditioning systems play a crucial role in perfecting indoor air comfort by delivering thermal comfort, clean air, and seamlessly complementing residential design aesthetics.

In collaboration with professional associations IAI Jakarta, HDII Jakarta, Magran Living, and Nava Park, the Daikin Designer Award 2022 will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges consisting of:

  • Budi Pradono, IAI (IAI Jakarta)
  • Alex Bayu Saputro (HDII Jakarta)
  • Andry Mulyono (Magran Group)
  • Hiroaki Niikura (Daikin Japan)
  • Wengky Handono (Daikin Indonesia)
  • Kimberly Ryder (Guest judge, influencer, user)

Unlike the first edition, this year’s event not only honors architects and interior designers who have successfully integrated Daikin Home Center into built residential projects but also introduces a dedicated architectural and interior design competition. The architectural track features a conceptual design competition for a single-family home for Kimberly Ryder and her family on a 300–400 square meter plot. Meanwhile, the interior track focuses on a conceptual interior design competition for Kimberly Ryder’s residence located within the Nava Park cluster in Tangerang.
