Visiting Bandung Polytechnic today (Oct 20), PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) conducted a special guest lecture session. This event is part of the company’s annual "DAIKIN Goes To Campus" program, designed by the Japanese air conditioning solutions specialist to bridge the gap between academia and the industrial sector.
“This activity is an annual DAIKIN initiative to introduce students to the air conditioning solutions industry,” stated Alip Haryanto, Branch Manager for the Bandung region, during his opening remarks. “Through this program, we aim to inspire and equip students with the readiness to enter the professional workforce,” he added.
Beyond knowledge sharing, the "DAIKIN Goes To Campus" program is also a strategic effort to strengthen industry-academia partnerships. By fostering closer ties between the corporate sector and educational institutions, the company aims to enhance student competency and better prepare them for their future careers.
Held at the Conference Room on the 3rd Floor of Building P2T at Bandung Polytechnic, the session was attended by over one hundred students from the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Department. The core discussion focused on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and their practical applications in industrial building requirements.
What made the session particularly engaging was that it went beyond theoretical discussions. DAIKIN also facilitated an interactive Q&A segment where participants could ask questions, share feedback, and discuss their perspectives on the presented topics. “We ensured active participation so attendees could gain broader insights into the air conditioning solutions industry, a field where DAIKIN has been a global leader for nearly a century,” Alip Haryanto explained.
During the guest lecture, DAIKIN also provided an overview of the company’s background and highlighted various career pathways within the organization. “We aimed to give students a clear picture of what it takes to build a career at DAIKIN, recognized as the market leader in air conditioning solutions across Indonesia, including the challenges and self-development opportunities available,” he noted.
He further mentioned that DAIKIN will continue to expand this initiative beyond universities to include various vocational schools offering related majors. In fact, the company is currently developing similar programs to strengthen its contribution to education, specifically in the air conditioning solutions field. “We believe that increasingly synergistic collaboration between industry and academia will be a key driver in developing Indonesia’s human resources for the future,” concluded Alip Haryanto.
