In partnership with the Bandung Center for Vocational Training and Productivity (BBPVP), DAIKIN hosted a three-day upskilling and reskilling program for electrical engineering vocational high school teachers across West Java, commencing on January 27. Held at the BBPVP Bandung refrigeration workshop, the session brought together 19 teachers from various SMKs throughout West Java and 6 instructors from BBPVP Bandung.
The training curriculum covered Basic Air Conditioning, Basic P-h & Psychrometric Charts, and RA Inverter Troubleshooting. Instruction was designed to blend strong conceptual understanding with practical skills, utilizing an integrated learning approach that combined theoretical lectures with hands-on exercises in the workshop environment.
This program exemplifies DAIKIN’s sustained commitment to continuously upgrading the competencies of vocational educators in air conditioning and refrigeration across Indonesia. Similar initiatives have been conducted throughout 2025. Previously, DAIKIN traveled to various regions across Indonesia to train SMK teachers on VRV systems, which serve as premier air conditioning solutions for commercial buildings.
For this iteration, the training topics were specifically tailored to focus on residential AC fundamentals and inverter technology, based on participant feedback from previous sessions. Given rapid technological advancements, revisiting and updating core knowledge on AC basics and inverter systems remains a critical need for vocational educators. This is particularly important considering that not all vocational teachers hold formal academic backgrounds in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Driven by these considerations, DAIKIN is committed to continuing similar training programs for SMK teachers across various regions in Indonesia throughout the year. Aligned with its broader vision, the company aims to strengthen educator competencies, fostering a generation of competent, adaptable SMK graduates ready to enter the modern industrial workforce.
