This further demonstrates PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia’s (DAIKIN) ongoing commitment to cultivating more HVAC experts across Indonesia. Most recently, the company achieved this by hosting a specialized training program for air conditioning and refrigeration instructors in the Aceh and North Sumatra regions.
A total of 30 participants attended the training, held from June 9 to 11 at the DAIKIN Training Center in the Medan branch office. The attendees comprised vocational high school teachers, polytechnic and university lecturers, as well as instructors from local Vocational Training Centers.
Aligned with its goal of elevating participants’ knowledge and competencies in HVAC systems, DAIKIN designed the curriculum to cover both theoretical foundations and direct practical applications. This approach ensures that every attendee gains a solid conceptual understanding alongside essential hands-on skills.
The sessions began with fundamental principles of air conditioning systems, progressing to building-specific AC system design while accounting for environmental factors. Key topics included calculating humidity levels, cooling loads, and determining precise temperature requirements tailored to specific building needs.
Furthermore, participants were equipped with analytical and problem-solving skills, specifically focusing on common issues and AC inverter troubleshooting according to DAIKIN standards. These technical competencies support DAIKIN’s collaborative efforts with the government to promote AC inverter technology as a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly cooling solution.
This training initiative is not new for DAIKIN. The company consistently organizes these programs throughout the year, targeting HVAC instructors across various regions in Indonesia.
This program operates under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DAIKIN and the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, as well as the Ministry of Manpower. Renewed in 2025, the MoU emphasizes synergy between DAIKIN and relevant government bodies to enhance the competencies of educators and instructors, particularly in the fields of refrigeration and HVAC across Indonesia.
