Daikin Showcases the HVAC Industry at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara

PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) held a guest lecture session at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) today (June 21). Taking place in the Auditorium of Building E, 2nd Floor at UMSU, the event is part of the DAIKIN Goes To Campus program, an annual company initiative designed to introduce the intricacies of the HVAC industry and the career opportunities it offers.

“This activity is organized as part of DAIKIN’s effort to build relationships with students and universities. Through this initiative, we hope that prospective employees will gain a clear understanding of the HVAC solutions industry and the professional work environment,” said Charly Widjaja, Branch Manager of DAIKIN in Medan. By receiving this information early on, students can better prepare themselves for their future careers, he added.

As an annual agenda focused on enhancing the company’s contribution to the education sector, DAIKIN Goes To Campus runs continuously throughout the year, targeting various universities across Indonesia. For Medan specifically, this marks the second visit, following previous iterations of the program at other institutions.

Regarding the guest lecture at UMSU, dozens of students from the Faculty of Engineering attended, representing various majors such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. In addition to the DAIKIN Branch Manager for Medan and several technical experts, the company also invited staff members who are UMSU alumni to share their knowledge and professional experiences within DAIKIN.

“We expect that by sharing these experiences, students will gain a clearer perspective on career development in the actual industrial landscape,” Charly noted. During the lecture session, he added, students were also given the opportunity to ask questions and share their insights regarding the presented topics.

Furthermore, aligning with the company’s established vision, the North Sumatra branch of DAIKIN will continue to execute the DAIKIN Goes To Campus program by reaching out to additional campuses. He also mentioned that there is no possibility ruled out for conducting visits and training sessions that extend beyond universities to include relevant vocational schools in North Sumatra and surrounding areas. “This reflects DAIKIN’s strong commitment to contributing to Indonesian society through educational initiatives,” concluded Charly Wijaya.
