Last August, PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) officially inaugurated two Centers of Excellence for Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Central Java. Named the DAIKIN Center of Excellence, the facilities are located at both SMK Negeri 1 Kendal and SMK Nadhlatul Ulama Ungaran.
“The development of the DAIKIN Center of Excellence represents DAIKIN’s ongoing commitment to further synergize with the government in advancing vocational education competencies,” stated Budi Mulia, Director of PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia. Focused on developing expertise in air conditioning and refrigeration, the inauguration of these two centers brings DAIKIN’s total count of similar vocational school partnerships to four.
As physical facilities, the DAIKIN Centers of Excellence occupy dedicated rooms designed for both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical training. Each space features specialized racks equipped with various air conditioning units, ranging from residential models to those designed for commercial buildings. These carefully arranged AC setups are prepared for a wide range of practical exercises, including installation procedures, AC troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery.
Complementing the physical infrastructure, DAIKIN has also implemented several supporting programs. These include curriculum enhancement, industry certification programs for teachers and students, guest instructor training sessions led by DAIKIN experts, and on-the-job training opportunities for both educators and learners.
