Daikin’s First Residential AC Series Made in Indonesia Offers Advanced Features with Global Standards

DAIKIN officially introduced its inaugural residential AC series manufactured locally in Indonesia on June 30.

Named Nusantara Prestige, the lineup features three models: two inverter ACs (ALPHA Inverter and BETA Inverter) and one standard model, the SMS (Super Mini Split).

Beyond being locally made, all three models are produced at PT Daikin Industries Indonesia, the company’s newly operational residential AC manufacturing facility that officially commenced operations last May. Built with state-of-the-art production technologies and under the direct supervision of DAIKIN Japan, the Cikarang plant maintains quality standards equivalent to those of DAIKIN’s manufacturing facilities worldwide.

Regarding design, the Nusantara Prestige AC series was engineered with specific attention to the challenges of AC usage in Indonesia. This includes enhanced durability against installation environment factors, achieved through specialized coatings applied to the evaporator and condenser coils: Hairpin Coating and Blue Fin Coating.

For both inverter-based models, the ALPHA Inverter and BETA Inverter, DAIKIN has integrated an advanced PCB that ensures stable operation even when facing power surges or voltage drops—a common issue in certain regions across Indonesia. Meanwhile, the SMS (Super Mini Split) features built-in electrical protection via Low Voltage Protection, which automatically shuts down the unit if the power supply falls below a safe threshold.

In terms of specialized capabilities, the ALPHA Inverter is tailored for health-conscious users, featuring DAIKIN’s STREAMER Technology designed to eliminate viruses and bacteria. The BETA Inverter, on the other hand, offers cooling performance that is 40% faster while also delivering significant energy savings. Conversely, the DAIKIN SMS (Super Mini Split) serves as a reliable choice equipped with all the essential features required for a standard AC unit.

Regarding availability, DAIKIN announced that the Nusantara Prestige series will be rolled out progressively starting in July 2025.
