PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) served as the featured speaker for a guest lecture held today (Sept 20) at Universitas Prima in Medan, North Sumatra. As part of the DAIKIN Goes To Campus initiative, official DAIKIN representatives in Medan shared insights into air conditioning solutions and the associated career opportunities within the industry.
“This activity is DAIKIN’s effort to introduce the air conditioning industry to students. We hope this knowledge will serve as a valuable foundation for students to better prepare themselves for their future careers,” said Charly Widjaja, Head of DAIKIN Medan Branch, during his address at the DAIKIN Goes to Campus event at Universitas Prima Medan.
DAIKIN Goes To Campus is an integral part of DAIKIN Indonesia’s program to strengthen relationships and foster collaboration for the advancement of education in Indonesia. For Medan, this marks the second visit this year, following a previous session held at another university.
The core focus of DAIKIN Goes To Campus is delivering lectures on the air conditioning solution industry, which is DAIKIN’s global area of specialization. The interactive presentation format allows participants to engage directly with DAIKIN professionals, aligning with the program’s objective to enhance knowledge while providing students with a clear perspective on industry trends and career pathways.
The event took place in a classroom at the Faculty of Science and Technology, located at Jalan Sampul No. 3, Medan, North Sumatra. Participants were predominantly students majoring in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Architecture.
Regarding the main topics covered, DAIKIN presented updates on residential air conditioner (AC) technology advancements. Beyond the diverse range of air conditioning solutions for residential to commercial applications, the session also highlighted key underlying technologies, specifically inverter and non-inverter AC systems.
“With this knowledge, we hope it will enrich students’ understanding of their respective fields of study,” added Charly Widjaja. He further noted that DAIKIN deployed several experts throughout the guest lecture session to field questions, feedback, and discussions from the participants.
Alongside the technical content on air conditioning solutions, DAIKIN also discussed career prospects within the HVAC industry. Through these insights, DAIKIN aims to inspire students regarding the professional paths they can pursue upon graduation.
Regarding the DAIKIN Goes To Campus program, Charly Widjaja emphasized that DAIKIN, particularly through its Medan representative office, will continue to expand initiatives to deepen connections with educational institutions for student knowledge development.
“Not limited to higher education, similar initiatives will be extended to vocational high school students in the future. This aligns with DAIKIN’s efforts in Indonesia to make a tangible impact on community development, with education serving as one of our key pillars,” concluded Charly Widjaja.
