Jakarta, December 10 – DAIKIN’s latest air conditioning systems designed for commercial building solutions, the VRV 6 X and VRV 6 A, have demonstrated up to 25 years of corrosion resistance. Rather than relying on unilateral claims, this durability was rigorously validated through a series of tests conducted at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia.

“This achievement serves as proof of DAIKIN’s commitment to delivering robust products capable of withstanding Indonesia’s tropical climate. It is driven by our serious dedication to continuous innovation, ensuring we remain at the forefront of providing advanced air conditioning solutions for the public,” stated Fawzie M Taib, Senior General Manager of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia.

He further noted that these test results reflect DAIKIN’s accountability to the public regarding its product superiority. “It transforms what could be a mere marketing claim into a verified advantage confirmed by an independent institution,” added Fawzie M Taib.

This initiative aligns with DAIKIN’s decision to partner with the Center for Materials Processing and Failure Analysis (CMPFA) at the University of Indonesia for the testing phase. Operating under the Faculty of Engineering, CMPFA is a nationally accredited testing laboratory by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN).

Over a three-month period, CMPFA specifically evaluated two critical components of the VRV 6 X and VRV 6 A: the PFC and Cross Fin. Utilizing the Salt Spray method, the tests were executed in strict compliance with international standards ASTM B117, JIS Z 2371, and ISO 9227.

Within a specialized environmental chamber, both core components underwent Neutral Salt Spray (NSS) testing to assess their corrosion resistance.

The testing team observed that both the PFC and Cross Fin components integrated into the VRV 6 X and VRV 6 A exhibited corrosion resistance for up to 2,000 hours under continuous spray conditions throughout the evaluation. Based on these findings and extrapolated to real-world operating environments, the VRV 6 X and VRV 6 A are projected to maintain corrosion resistance for up to 25 years across these primary components.

“We commend DAIKIN’s initiative to conduct these tests. It exemplifies industry accountability by providing the public with accurate and transparent information,” said Dr.-Ing. Reza Miftahul Ulum, S.T., M.T., Head of CMPFA. Highlighting the aggressive marketing campaigns from various manufacturers, he emphasized that validation at accredited, independent institutions is essential for fostering responsible communication with consumers.
