To expand awareness on the importance of refrigerant recovery, DAIKIN collaborated with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), Taiyoshoji, Iwatani, and TASCO to host the seminar “Fluorocarbon Recovery and Reclamation for Ozone Layer Protection and Global Warming Mitigation”.
Held from October 31 to November 1, 2023, at the DAIKIN National Training Center (NTC) in Sunter, Jakarta, the event drew over 200 attendees from diverse backgrounds representing a wide range of stakeholders. Participants included government representatives, vocational training centers, workforce development institutes, and university delegates.
In short, refrigerant recovery involves collecting refrigerant back from an air conditioning unit, typically during unit or compressor replacement. Preventing refrigerant from being released directly into the atmosphere is an environmentally responsible practice, as uncontrolled emissions significantly contribute to global warming.
Hosted at the DAIKIN training center equipped with specialized refrigerant recovery tools, the session went beyond theoretical presentations. It provided participants with the opportunity to observe and even conduct hands-on simulations of the entire recovery process.
DAIKIN’s comprehensive suite of refrigerant recovery equipment is no coincidence. As a leading air conditioning solutions provider, DAIKIN already offers this service professionally. Furthermore, DAIKIN has integrated refrigerant recovery into its standard training curriculum, regularly conducted at its dedicated training center.
Ultimately, broadening stakeholder understanding of refrigerant recovery, combined with enhanced technical skills among technicians, will serve as a tangible contribution from the industry toward achieving carbon neutrality in Indonesia.
