Jakarta, December 13 – Beyond focusing on innovation and marketing its air conditioning solution products in Indonesia, PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia is actively supporting government efforts to elevate workforce quality. Recently, the Japanese manufacturer reaffirmed its commitment to assisting the government in enhancing the proficiency of refrigeration and air conditioning specialists across the country.
This initiative was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday (December 13). Conducted under the Directorate General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development, the signing ceremony was attended alongside 14 other companies representing various industries.
Notably, Daikin stands as the sole company operating in the air conditioning solution device industry participating in this partnership. “As a leader in air conditioning solutions, it is our responsibility to take a greater role in sharing Daikin’s expertise to uplift Indonesia’s human resources,” stated Budi Mulia, Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia.
Daikin’s commitment to supporting human resource development in Indonesia, particularly in refrigeration and air conditioning, is not a new endeavor. Previously, the company, widely recognized for its residential and commercial air conditioning products, had also established a collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture. This partnership specifically aimed to enhance HVAC competencies among students at Vocational High Schools (SMK).
Unlike the previous collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture, the focal point of this MoU between Daikin and the Ministry of Manpower is the network of Vocational Training Centers across Indonesia. Spanning three years from the date of signing, the agreement covers six key areas, including training needs analysis, program development, curriculum and module creation, and the provision of training facilities and infrastructure.
Furthermore, through this partnership, Daikin is placing strong emphasis on upskilling both instructors and trainees. In addition to deploying its own experts to serve as trainers at various Vocational Training Centers, the company will conduct specialized training sessions for local instructors. To complement these efforts, Daikin will also support the implementation of competency-based training programs.
According to Budi Mulia, Daikin’s continuous focus on elevating HVAC specialist competency remains a core strategic priority. He noted that beyond ensuring end-user satisfaction, enhancing technical skills directly contributes to environmental stewardship. This includes proper refrigerant handling techniques to prevent atmospheric emissions that could negatively impact the environment.
“Alongside the enhancement of specialist competency, this collaboration reflects our dedication to environmental conservation, which aligns with Daikin’s broader sustainability commitments across all regions of operation,” added Budi Mulia. He concluded, “We look forward to further strengthening our synergy with the Indonesian government in the years to come.”
