From February 13–17, PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) had the opportunity to visit SMK Negeri 1 Lamongan in East Java. Beyond serving as guest instructors for residential air conditioning installation training, our presence also focused on assessing the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) technical competencies of the students. Passing this competency assessment qualifies each student to receive an official industry certificate from DAIKIN.
This competency assessment for vocational students is part of the company’s broader effort to elevate human resource capabilities. As a key component of the certification program, students first underwent comprehensive hands-on training delivered directly by DAIKIN experts.
Furthermore, holding this competency certificate provides employers with a clearer and more reliable benchmark when evaluating students as potential future employees.
This competency assessment and industry certification package is part of DAIKIN’s strategic collaboration, formalized through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various vocational education institutions. In addition to vocational high schools, these agreements also extend to Vocational Training Centers (Balai Latihan Kerja).
To date, 34 vocational high schools (SMK) and 7 Vocational Training Centers (BLK) have signed MoUs to collaborate with DAIKIN. This number will continue to grow, reflecting DAIKIN’s ongoing commitment to expanding similar partnerships with more educational institutions.
As a leader in the air conditioning solutions industry, it is DAIKIN’s responsibility to contribute further and actively participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing Indonesia’s human resource competency.
