DAIKIN STREAMER TECHNOLOGY

Demonstration of Disabling Effect Against Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) By Streamer Technology

99.9% inactivation after 3 hours

As a result of the test, SARS-CoV-2 was inactivated by 93.7% after 1 hour of Streamer irradiation. After 2 hours, it was deactivated by more than 99.8%, reaching more than 99.9% after 3 hours of Streamer irradiation.

* These results were obtained using the Streamer discharge device for testing under lab conditions.

The effects of products equipped with Streamer technology or the results in the actual usage environment may differ.

Test Organization Organisasi

The research group was led by Professor Shigeru Morikawa in the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Okayama University of Science.

Test Method

Two acrylic boxes of approx. 31L are installed inside the safety cabinet. One box comes with a Streamer release device and the other box does not. A see-saw rocking motion shaker is placed in each box, and a six-well plate is placed on top of the motion shaker. 0.5 ml of virus was inserted into each plate hole, and the Streamer irradiation was carried out while stirring the solution using a motion shaker (approximately 12 times per minute). Virus was collected from two containers on a six-well plate every hour for three hours, and viral load was measured. The viral load of SARS-CoV-2 was quantified by the TCID50 method using Vero E6/TMPRSS2 cells.
