Signing Memorandum of Understanding, Daikin Again Supports Government to Improve Competence of Experts in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering

Jakarta, December 13 - Not only focusing on innovation and marketing of its air conditioning solutions in Indonesia, PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia also participates in the government's efforts to improve the quality of the workforce. The latest, this Japanese manufacturer is committed to supporting the government to improve the quality of refrigeration and air conditioning engineering experts in Indonesia.


This was done through the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday (13/12). Conducted under the Directorate General of Vocational Training and Productivity of the Ministry of Manpower, this signing was carried out together with 14 companies from various industries.


However, Daikin is the only company in the air conditioning solution industry that takes part in this collaboration. "As a leader in air conditioning solutions, it is our responsibility to take a bigger role in sharing Daikin's knowledge to improve Indonesia's human resources," said Budi Mulia, Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia.


Daikin's commitment in supporting the improvement of Indonesia's human resources, especially refrigeration and air conditioning techniques, is actually not the first time. Previously, the company, which is known for its various air conditioning products for homes and commercial buildings, has also been noted to have collaborated with the Ministry of Education and Culture. This is specifically to improve the competence in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning engineering for Vocational High School (SMK) students.


Unlike the previous collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture, the target in the memorandum of understanding between Daikin and the Ministry of Manpower is Job Training Centers throughout Indonesia. It will last for three years since it was signed, this agreement is structured covering six scopes. This includes the preparation of training needs analysis, program development, curriculum and training modules as well as the provision of training facilities and infrastructure.


Not only that, through this collaboration, Daikin also pays attention to increasing the knowledge of teaching staff as well as students. In addition to providing experts to become trainers at various vocational training centers, the company will also provide special training for teachers at each job training center. Complementing it, Daikin will also support the implementation of various competency-based trainings.


According to Budi Mulia, Daikin's concern for continuously improving the competence of its cooling and air conditioning engineering personnel is one of the company's main focuses. Not only related to user satisfaction, according to him, the increase in competence is also related to attention to environmental protection. This is for example related to the technique of maintaining refrigerant so that it does not escape in the air which can affect the environment.


"Along with increasing the competence of experts, this collaboration is also a form of our concern for the environment in accordance with Daikin's great commitment in the various areas where it operates," said Budi Mulia. He further stated, "We hope that the synergy with the Indonesian government can develop better in the future."

Lebih lanjut Budi Mulia menyatakan, kegiatan ini sekaligus merupakan bagian komitmen perusahaan untuk terus hadir dan berdampak positif bagi lingkungan dan komunitas sekitar secara berkelanjutan. Tentang Roda-Roda Ramadan sebagai inisiatif sosial berkelanjutan dari perusahaan, penyelenggaraannya terhitung menjadi tahun ke-enam sejak program ini mulai bergulir. Dalam pelaksanaannya, beragam donasi dengan berbagai cakupan daerah distribusi dilakukan untuk menyentuh komunitas masyarakat yang membutuhkan dukungan. Penyelenggaraan tahun ini yang salahsatunya mengambil tempat di desa Pasirranji, Cikarang Pusat, pun tak lepas dari pertimbangan lokasinya yang berdekatan dengan pabrik AC hunian DAIKIN di Indonesia. Berdiri di kawasan industri Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) Deltamas di Cikarang, fasilitas produksi ini tercatat menjadi pabrik AC hunian skala penuh pertama di Indonesia yang beroperasi dibawah supervisi dan standar kualitas Jepang. “Dengan distribusi sembako di desa Pasirranji ini, kami ingin memperluas dampak nyata kehadiran pabrik ini bagi masyarakat dan komunitas sekitarnya. Tak hanya penyediaan produk berkualitas dan lapangan kerja, namun juga memberi perhatian pada kelompok masyarakat yang membutuhkan di bulan Ramadan,” ujar Budi Mulia lagi.

Launched in 2022 by LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions, a U.S.-based leading global provider of information and analytics, the award evaluates the momentum of companies' technological advancements. This year marks the fifth annual edition of the award, with Daikin's third consecutive selection underscoring its commitment to innovative growth. The awards ceremony was held on Thursday, March 5. “Innovation Momentum 2026: The Global Top 100” analyzes companies’ patent data to assess and highlight their momentum and evolution in technological developments over the past two years. Using LexisNexis' patent evaluation metrics, the assessment measures the value of patent portfolios based on factors such as the total number of citations and the market size protected by patents. To contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions across the industry, Daikin has allowed other companies to use a number of its patents. In December 2019, the company began participating with WIPO GREEN*, the clearinghouse arm of the UN agency specializing in intellectual property, and it registered a total of 419 patents relating to air conditioners that use the low global warming potential refrigerant R32. WIPO GREEN is an online platform that introduces sustainable technologies to the world and encourages the sharing and mutual utilization of them.
